Smile Rejuvenation
What is the first thing we tend to notice when meeting someone? Their smile (provided they are happy to see you of course) - it is a universal sign of warmth and friendliness, in every language and culture. Therefore, a beautiful smile can have a tremendous impact on your life. A brilliant smile can be an important factor when making first impressions, in both your personal and professional life, as well as boost your self-confidence and make you look years younger. The opposite is also true. If you are unhappy with the appearance of your smile then please read below for more information and consider having a consultation for a smile rejuvenation with us.
What is a Smile Rejuvenation?
Just as no two people are alike, no two mouths are alike. Therefore, with our smile rejuvenation at Old Hook Dental, a one size fits all approach is simply not good enough for us (nor should it be for you). We first assess the situation to see what we are working with to determine what treatments are possible. Next, we listen to and address all of your dental concerns, needs and wants. Lastly, we envision the end result and how to get there: this can include multiple aspects of dentistry like veneers, whitening, crowns, bridges, tissue recontouring, tooth recontouring, implants and many others that can be used in combination with one another to make your smile look brand new and healthy. We use high-quality, based in the USA dental labs (none of that shipping overseas to save a few bucks nonsense).
By working together with you to formulate our approach, it helps us get to the result you want that is best for you based on your needs, time availability, budget, goals and desires to transform your mouth into your ideal, stunning smile. All of this is done in our spa-like office with amenities that make you feel relaxed, pampered, comfortable and dare I say it - maybe even enjoy visiting the dentist? (Ok, maybe I'm pushing it a bit) Our goal though is simply to create a beautifully attractive smile for you and keep you comfortable in the transformation process.
Who wants a Smile Rejuvenation?
You'll notice in the heading above we say "wants", because a smile rejuvenation is something more for and about you. Teeth can be fixed (mostly) but not everybody is blessed with perfect, straight, glowing white teeth; yet, most people desire it and associate it with status and beauty. The good thing is that with modern dentistry and using the latest technology available to us, there aren't many dental issues that can't be addressed and rejuvenated back to "like new."
We are here if you are ready to take the first step, and we'll be here with you throughout the process until the last one. On a personal note - as a dentist, these cases can be some of the most rewarding and satisfying to complete, by far - nothing makes us feel more fulfilled and proud than when one of these cases is completed. The immediate change after a rejuvenation to a patients appearance, self confidence and happiness is so dramatic and impactful - it reminds me why I get out of bed in the morning.
Is a Smile Rejuvenation for me?
In most instances, yes! Everyone's mouth is different and in varying states; however, you would be amazed at what we can do to make your smile look amazing in as little as a few appointments. Visit us at Old Hook Dental - we'd love to discuss how a smile rejuvenation can benefit you, your life and transform your smile into one that you will love. So why not schedule a free consultation with us today?
What types of things can it correct?
The list below is just a few examples of what can be done with a smile rejuvenation. As we mentioned, every mouth is different and so is every smile rejuvenation.
- Missing teeth can be replaced
- Misshapen teeth can be corrected
- Cosmetic issues can be addressed
- Crooked teeth can be aligned
- Broken teeth can be repaired
- Discolored or stained teeth can be whitened
- Old fillings, discolored or chipped teeth can be veneered
- Gums can be re-contoured
- Teeth can be lengthened, shortened, widened
We can go on forever, but you get the idea. With a smile rejuvenation, we will address all of your dental needs and wants at the same time to accomplish the smile you once had or have always wanted - all done in a relaxing, comfortable, friendly atmosphere. Whoever thought a visit to a dental office to have work done can be like a trip to the spa for the day.
How long will it take?
A smile rejuvenation will take multiple appointments but one thing is certain - good dentistry takes a good amount of time, and we will provide you with that level of care to deliver a quality product. We will make sure to keep you relaxed, feeling cared for and informed every step of the way. For a quick example, A full veneer case can have a stunning, dramatic, positive effect on a person's appearance and can be completed in as little as 2-3 appointments, whereas a case involving implants can take months to complete, just factoring in healing alone. Whatever the situation may be, we will make it happen - this is the reason smile rejuvenation exists.
What's the difference between a Smile Rejuvenation and Smile Restoration?
While both are intended to address all of your dental needs and wants, the main difference between the two is the design of the treatment and the route we take to get to the end result. A smile rejuvenation is designed to address esthetic concerns, possibly in conjunction with any minor dental issues you may have. Primarily, patients for Smile Rejuvenation do not have major dental issues associated with their teeth that need attention first - they are simply unhappy with the appearance of their smile.
Please click here to see in our Smile Gallery Case #2 as an illustration of this - the patient had one missing tooth and was not happy with the discoloration and chipping on the remaining teeth as well as the unsightly restorations she had prior. Since the teeth were in relatively good shape to begin with, this case was treated using a combination of porcelain veneers, zirconia crown and bridge work and whitening for the lower to keep cost affordable.
A Smile Restoration, on the other hand, is designed for people with other underlying dental issues in addition to cosmetic issues, such as chronic painful teeth or bite, multiple infections, multiple decayed, broken down or missing teeth. This type of treatment is more in-depth, where we restore you back to a state of health first (removing infections, sources of pain, etc), then address any functional, cosmetic or esthetic issues to give you back a beautiful, pain free, working smile. In both cases, all of the dental issues will be addressed and needs met; however, the goal here is to 1) Restore your health first 2) Restore function 3) Restore to a naturally beautiful appearance and 4) Maintain health - in that order. Please see our page here on Smile Restoration for more information.
