Dr. Philip Aurbach
Bio : Dr. Aurbach was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. He completed his undergraduate education at Mercy College in Westchester, New York, before receiving his D.M.D. degree through Nova Southeastern University in sunny south Florida. Following graduation, he returned to his home state and completed a General Practice Residency at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York.
Dr. Aurbach has worked in many styles of dental offices, from hospital based services to dental clinics that see underserved populations to high end cosmetics offices; gaining a different experience at every one. His goal is to provide a broad spectrum of high quality dental care and get to know his patients in a friendly, comfortable and family oriented atmosphere. Following his work in these other offices as an associate and having gained the necessary experience, he opened Old Hook Dental to accomplish that goal. As "Mom and Pop" style businesses are in a steady decline due to giant corporations (even in dentistry) the fact that our patients still prefer to know and be known by their doctor over being just another number serves as his proof that the American dream is still alive and well.
In his free time, Dr. Aurbach enjoys most of all - being a Dad to his Twins, in addition to traveling, snorkeling and marine life, aerial drone photography and anything with wheels and a motor. Some of his other interests include American muscle cars, Jeeps, motorcycles, model ship building, carpentry, music and movies.

Shane Yabut - Dental Assistant
In 2016, Shane joined the Old Hook Dental family as a Dental Assistant. Having over six years of dental assisting experience working with other competent dental professionals within the Bergen County area since 2010; Shane is a highly qualified, capable and caring individual. She graduated from the Fairfield Dental Institute in 2012 and has earned her Associate Degree in Science at Bergen Community in 2014.
In her spare time, she is active with her charity organization The Circulo Masantoleno which she has been a member of since 2011. In 2012-2013 she received the opportunity to serve as the organization's Muse. During her reign, she successfully facilitated the goal of the organization - which is to serve the less fortunate in the Philippines through medical missions and raising funds for calamities and scholarships. Even after her reign she is still an active member of The Masantoleno because she enjoys doing charitable work to help others. Being from the Philippines, Shane speaks two dialects (Tagalog and Kapangpangan) of the language.
Anna Baluyut - Dental Assistant
Anna joined the Old Hook Dental family in March of 2021 to gain more hands-on experience in dentistry. Her passion for dentistry grew after seeing how much a smile can make a difference in someone’s life. Her favorite part of working in the office is interacting with our patients and learning new things about the profession every day. She is currently a sophomore at Ramapo college majoring in Biology, with the desire to continue her education by attending dental school. In her free time, she likes to maintain a healthy lifestyle by going on walks with her puppy Milo and traveling.
Paula Bliz - Administrative Assistant
Paula started working at Old Hook Dental in June of 2016. She enjoys helping and interacting with our patients, finding ways to help you smile and build confidence to share that smile! She is happy to answer your questions, plan for appointments, help resolve concerns and make your visits positive. Paula is fluent in Russian and Ukrainian. Our patients and staff enjoy her bubbly, positive personality and radiant smile. Paula loves to travel, dine out and spend time outdoors.
